Jonathan is a licensed architect in the State of Ohio and has worked for the University at Buffalo’s Center for Inclusive Design and Environmental Access (IDEA Center) since 2007. He holds the Accessibility Professionals Certification-Built Environment (APAC-BE) certification. Jonathan’s research work, nearly 20 years of experience, and his (extreme) attention to detail are part of what make him an expert in accessible design and universal design. Jonathan works to meticulously evaluate designs and existing facilities for barriers to independence, develops practical and elegant solutions, and passes along his knowledge to others in reports, books, and lectures. His current projects include the innovative solutions for Universal Design (isUD) certification program, Universal Design Education Online, as well as ongoing ADA and Fair Housing compliance audits and evaluations.
