Bill Hecker, AIA, is an architect (CO, FL, AL, GA, LA) with 36 years of experience in accessible design and consulting. He began his expert witness work for the US DOJ Disability Rights Section in 1994 and later with various US Attorney Offices as their expert witness in ADA investigations and/or litigation against: Days Inn, Motel 6, University of Chicago, AMC, MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, The Plaza Hotel, University of Michigan (Football Stadium), Safeway, Gillette Stadium, Fenway Park, and Subway Sandwich Shops. Between 1999 and 2009, he was an expert witness on FHA apartment cases for the US DOJ Housing & Civil Enforcement Section. He was the Plaintiffs' expert in large ADA/504/FHA cases against the City of Los Angeles & Chicago. He was the principal defense witness for ADA cases against: Honolulu, San Francisco & Caltrans. He has testified in depositions, hearings, or trials in 26 cases.
