APA Advertising Guidelines and Procedures

Introduction:
The Accessibility Professionals Association (APA) is dedicated to promoting accessibility in the built environment and fostering a community of professionals committed to creating inclusive experiences. These Advertising Guidelines and Procedures outline the guidelines and costs for advertising opportunities within APA's platforms, including our quarterly newsletter and website. By advertising with APA, businesses reach a highly targeted audience of accessibility professionals, advocates, and decision-makers.
- General Guidelines:
- Relevance: All advertisements must be relevant to the APA's mission and audience, focusing on accessibility in the built environment, or related services and products.
- Accessibility: Advertisements must adhere to basic accessibility standards, including sufficient color contrast, alternative text for images (where applicable), and clear, concise language. Advertisers are asked to follow at least the WCAG 2.1 Level AA Guidelines.
- Approval: APA reserves the right to approve or reject any advertisement based on its content, relevance, and adherence to these guidelines. APA also reserves the right to remove any advertisement at any time if it is determined to be in violation of these guidelines.
- Non-Endorsement: Advertising does not imply endorsement by APA of the advertiser's products or services.
- Ethical Standards: Advertisements must comply with all applicable laws and regulations and adhere to ethical advertising practices. Advertisements must adhere to the APA ethics policy. Advertisements should not contain misleading or deceptive claims.
- Submission: All advertisement materials must be submitted in digital format, as specified by APA, and within the designated deadlines.
- Indemnification: Advertisers agree to indemnify and hold APA harmless from any claims, liabilities, or expenses arising from their advertisements.
- Payment: Payment is required before the advertisement/article is published.
- Changes to Policy: APA reserves the right to modify this Advertising Policy at any time. Advertisers will be notified of any significant changes.
- Quarterly Newsletter Advertising:
- Description: The APA quarterly newsletter is a digital publication distributed to our membership and subscribers, providing valuable insights, updates, and resources related to accessibility.
- Ad Formats:
- Rectangular Ads (300px x 250px)
- Text Ads (Character Limit: Headline: Around 50 characters maximum. Body/Description: 200-300 characters maximum)
- Placement:
- Premier (Top of Newsletter)
- Standard (Within Newsletter Content)
- Classified (Bottom of Newsletter)
- Cost:
- Rectangular Ad (Premier): $150 per issue
- Rectangular Ad Ad (Standard): $100 per issue
- Text Ad (Classified): $75 per issue
- Discounts:
- Multi-issue discounts may be available (e.g., 10% off for 4 issues).
- Deadlines: Advertisement materials must be submitted four weeks prior to the newsletter's publication date. Specific deadlines will be provided with the advertising agreement.
- Sponsored Articles in Quarterly Newsletter:
- Description: Sponsored articles provide an opportunity to share in-depth information about your products, services, or expertise in a format that aligns with the newsletter's content.
- Guidelines:
- APA will limit the number of sponsored content articles to one article per newsletter.
- Articles must be relevant to accessibility and provide valuable information to our audience.
- APA reserves the right to edit or reject articles that do not meet our standards for quality, relevance, and objectivity.
- Sponsored articles must be clearly labeled as "Sponsored Content" or "Advertisement."
- Word count limits will apply (300 words).
- Advertisers are responsible for the accuracy of the information presented in sponsored articles.
- APA will review all sponsored articles for factual accuracy and adherence to the general guidelines outlined in Section I.
- Cost:
- $500 per sponsored article
- Submission: Articles must be submitted in Word format, along with any accompanying images (high-resolution, .jpg, .png), six weeks prior to the newsletter's publication date.
- Review Process: APA will provide feedback and may request revisions to the sponsored article.
- Website Advertising:
- Description: APA's website receives approximately 4,000 visits per month from accessibility professionals and related individuals.
