Sutter Health Accessibility Architect
Bill is the Program Manager for Sutter Health’s Physical Access Compliance and Regulatory Affairs unit, managing accessibility compliance throughout Sutter’s 24 hospitals and 200+ medical office buildings throughout Northern and Central California. As a Certified Access Specialist who represents a large building owner, Bill has struggled and collaborated with other access specialists to find construction solutions that make sense of the grey areas of code compliance.
Accessibility Community and Code Development:
Bill has a passion for a common-sense application of accessibility requirements that seeks a balanced approach that respects the needs of persons with disabilities and, at the same time, respects the impacts on building owners. In order to help the industry strike a healthy balance, Bill has served on many code organizations and committees as noted below, promoting clear language and common sense. Bill has also presented seminars to national audiences at several ADA Symposiums in Denver, Chicago, Dallas, and Cleveland, as well as in California.
